FAQ
Have questions? We have answers.
I bought a house in Mexico. Can I bring my household goods?
Absolutely. What you first need is an FM2 or FM3 visa from the Mexican Consulate. Once obtained, you have 6 months to cross your used household goods into Mexico.
Can I bring new items with my temporary/permanent resident visa?
Unfortunately, this format only allows you to bring your used household goods, however you can bring new items as long as you pay duties and taxes.
What else do I need to clear my used household goods?
You have to provide a list with a complete description of your items in both English and Spanish. Please contact our office to request a sample of this list.
What do I need if I want to ship only new items?
You have to submit copies of the invoices.
How are duties and taxes determined?
Both duties and taxes are determined by the description, origin and value of your goods as well as their final destination in Mexico.
How can I benefit from TMEC?
The Mexico-United States-Canada Agreement (T-MEC) replaces the Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (TLCAN) and will set the guidelines to how Mexico, the U.S. and Canada trade with each other.
Can I purchase items and have them shipped to you?
Absolutely! Make sure they are shipped with your name and our address. Please let our office know in advance so we can process it on time.
How do I pack my items?
All goods must be properly packed beforehand. If you purchase goods directly from a manufacturer, please mention shipping will be delivered to a warehouse and must remain in their original packing.
Can you pick up items at my home?
We don’t offer this service yet. But we can recommend a reliable third party company for local pick ups. Please contact our office for more details.
Are my goods insured?
Yes, all goods are insured. For details on coverage and deductibles, please contact us.
